CHRIST JESUS

     Christian Science teaches that Christ Jesus is the son of God, as Jesus himself taught. His virgin birth enabled him to resurrect from the sepulcher and ascend - proving that life is immortal. His mission shows us the way to eternal life.

     You'll find that Science and Health teaches Christ Jesus' theology - the healing theology Jesus used when he healed the blind, the deaf, the lame, multiplied the fish, raised the dead. This theology has not been lost centuries ago, but rather, is found and is available to each one today.

      Throughout Science and Health you'll find his teachings explained and elucidated. You might find the chapter "Atonement and Eucharist" of particular interest - as it explains the mission of Christ Jesus to humanity. It begins on page 18 of Science and Health. In this chapter Mrs. Eddy writes: "Jesus taught the way of Life by demonstration, that we may understand how this divine Principle heals the sick, casts out error, and triumphs over death. Jesus presented the ideal of God better than could any man whose origin was less spiritual. By his obedience to God, he demonstrated more spiritually than all others the Principle of being. Hence the force of his admonition, 'If ye love me, keep my commandments'" (Science and Health, pg 25).
