THE PASTOR OF CHRISTIAN SCIENCE: The Bible & Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures

    The pastor of Christian Science was established by its Founder, Mary Baker Eddy. Early in the Christian Science movement the Christian Science church had pastors much like we think of today. But, Mrs. Eddy realized that often the pastors of her churches would admit into their sermons their own personal opinions - perhaps they would preach on politics, or government, or other religions, or anything else that might be of interest. The problem with this, Mrs. Eddy realized, was that the congregation was not necessarily getting religion, undefiled and unadulterated. They were getting personal opinions. Mrs. Eddy wanted to make sure the adherents of Chrisitan Science were getting a better understanding of God and His laws as taught through this religion.

     To provide her congregations with unadulterated Christian Science she was led, through prayer, to establish the same pastor for every branch church of Christian Science. How did she do this? Simple. She ordained the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures as the pastor of her church. Yes - that's right, two books are the pastor of the Christian Science church - worldwide.

     What does this mean? It means that anyone can meet with their pastor any time, any place - no appointment needed. It means that what you hear on Sunday morning and Wednesday evening is not someone's opinion or interpretation, but pure Christian Science. It means that you can be assured that when you go to church you'll be filled with truth!
